Job summary

Arriva is seeking an experienced PSV Mechanic to service, maintain and repair a fleet of buses and coaches at the Southend depot. You will perform diagnostics and corrective work to DVSA standards and contribute to reliability improvements.

The role offers a full-time permanent contract with 40 hours per week, overtime opportunities, and a benefits package including travel passes and pension. A PSV licence and UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ/HGV/PSV maintenance and repair qualifications are required.
• Full UK driving licence (6 points or less).
• Fit for PCV pre-employment medical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
• MOT preparation and planned maintenance campaigns.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance to Arriva standards.
• Attending roadside breakdowns.

Job description

We are looking for experienced and ambitious Skilled Shift PSV Mechanic to join Arriva, based at our Southend depot.

As a PSV Engineer, your role would involve carrying out planned and preventative maintenance along with diagnostic fault finding and reactive repairs to a fleet of commercially operated buses & coaches, to the strict standards set by both Arriva and the DVSA.

The Role Of a PSV Mechanic Will Involve

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.

Requirements Of a PSV Mechanic

• Qualifications for PSV/HGV maintenance and repair - Minimum of NVQ level 3 or any equivalent international qualification (will require confirmation).
• A full UK driving licence (6 points or less).
• Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.
