Job summary

Arriva UK Bus Ltd in Southend-on-Sea is seeking a seasoned PSV Mechanic to join our depot team. You will service, maintain and repair buses and coaches to Arriva and DVSA standards, driving reliability across the fleet.

The role offers 40 hours per week, a full-time permanent contract, and 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays. If you lack a PCV licence, we will train you to drive a bus and enjoy employee travel benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in PSV/HGV maintenance.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for experienced and ambitious Skilled Shift PSV Mechanic to join Arriva, based at our Southend depot.

As a PSV Engineer, your role would involve carrying out planned and preventative maintenance along with diagnostic fault finding and reactive repairs to a fleet of commercially operated buses & coaches, to the strict standards set by both Arriva, and the DVSA.

The role of a PSV Mechanic will involve:

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
• MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA).

Requirements of a PSV Mechanic:

• Qualifications for PSV/HGV maintenance and repair - Minimum of NVQ level 3 or any equivalent international qualification (will require confirmation).
• A full UK driving licence (6 points or less).
• Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.
