Job summary

Leicester City Council is seeking a Skilled Roadworker to join the Highways Maintenance Service at 90 Leycroft Road. The role covers laying tarmac/bituminous surfacing by hand or machine, driving and maintaining related vehicles, and working to strict health, safety and works specifications.

The post is full-time (37 hours/week) with early start times and occasional overtime/weekend work. Applicants should have a relevant licence and be prepared for standby duties across Leicester.

Qualifications

• Experience in road surfacing or related construction work.
• Ability to follow specifications and maintain quality
• Good numeracy and measurement skills

Responsibilities

• Lay and rake tarmac/bituminous surfacing by hand or machine.
• Operate power tools and plant; drive and maintain vehicles.
• Plan and prioritise work to meet productivity targets while ensuring safety.
