Job summary

Fresh2DoorUK is seeking a full-time on-site Butcher in Stoke-on-Trent to handle meat, poultry, and seafood preparation and display. You will cut, trim, debone, portion products, and interact with customers, offering cooking advice and taking special orders.

Maintain high hygiene and safety standards while supporting efficient team operations. You should be comfortable with early shifts, weekends, and holidays, and bring strong butchery, food safety, and customer service skills to a hands-on

Qualifications

• Demonstrated skills in butchery and meat processing, including cutting, trimming, and deboning.
• Experience with poultry and seafood, with safe handling and preparation techniques.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and provide product guidance.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and health and safety practices in a food retail or production environment.
• Ability to work on-site in Stoke-On-Trent full-time, including early mornings, weekends, or holiday shifts.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle equipment and heavier products.
• Previous experience in a butcher shop, supermarket meat department, or similar environment is beneficial.
• Willingness to obtain food hygiene or meat handling certifications if needed.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, debone, and portion meat, poultry, and seafood according to specifications.
• Prepare and display products for sale; label and package orders accurately.
• Ensure stock is rotated and stored correctly to maintain freshness.
• Interact with customers; answer product questions and offer cooking advice; take special orders.
• Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in the workstation; follow company policies and regulatory guidelines.
