This role will offer academic mentoring designed to facilitate deep understanding, while nurturing independent study habits. You will work closely with subject specialist teachers, the sixth form team and SEND department assisting students taking post-16 qualifications who have EHCPs, neurodivergent conditions (e.g., ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia), or require tailored academic intervention.
You will work under the guidance of teaching staff and the learning support team to provide high-level academic, executive functioning, and pastoral support to post-16 students undertaking A-Level courses. The role focuses on helping students overcome barriers to learning—including SEND, mental health challenges, and executive dysfunction—while actively fostering the self-direction required for higher education and employment.
