SEN Learning Support Assistant


Contract type: Permanent


Reports to: Head of SENCO


Work pattern:30 hours per week (full-time or part-time considered), Term time +5 INSET days (38.6 weeks)


Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8.30am -3.00pm, including 30 minute unpaid lunch break


Salary information: Starting salary Scale 3, Point 5,£21,544 per annum (FTE £30,408 per annum),rising to Scale 3, Point 6,£21,852 per annum(FTE £30,843 per annum).

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Learning Support Assistant - SEN to work as part of a small team and working with teaching staff to support access to learning for students with specific needs, both in groups and on a 1-1 basis, delivering pre and post teaching support as required.The role would suit an experienced support assistants or someone considering a career in youth work or teaching.

Vyners is a very popular and oversubscribed mixed eight form entry, 11-18 comprehensive school situated in a pleasant residential area in North West London, bordering Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We have a track record of real success at all Key Stages. In 2026, 79% of students achieved grades 9-4 in both English and Maths at GCSE and we are consistently ranked in the top 10% of all schools nationally for progress measures and attainment. At A-Level 25% of all grades were A* - A and 51% A* - B. The school converted to academy status on 1 November 2011 and is part of the Vanguard Learning Trust which also includes one other secondary and four primary schools.
