Job description

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, organised and student focused Sixth Form Learning Resources Centre (LRC) Officer to support the day-to-day management of our successful Sixth Form Learning Resources Centre and provide administrative support to our Sixth Form Leadership and Pastoral Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people to succeed. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a purposeful learning environment within the Sixth Form Learning Resources Centre, while also contributing to the wider pastoral and administrative support provided to our Sixth Form students.

  • Contribute to embedding our shared vision and ethos across all aspects of college life
  • Serve as a TCOLC Character role model, exemplifying our four pillars: Intellectual, Moral, Community, and Performance
  • Ensure students are well supported to develop the knowledge, resilience, and behaviours required to thrive-even in the face of challenge
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for working in an inclusive, multi-faith and multicultural environment, recognising the importance of engaging parents, carers, and community leaders in students' education
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, always acting in the best interests of children
  • Work collaboratively as an effective team player, contributing positively across the college
  • Show strong motivation and a commitment to ongoing professional development

This is a rewarding and varied role for someone who enjoys working with young people and has excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be responsible for supporting the effective operation of the Sixth Form Learning Resources Centre, helping to ensure it remains a welcoming, well-organised and productive environment where students can study and thrive.

The City of Leicester College is a thriving and vibrant 11-19 multicultural college with approximately 1,500 students on roll, including a highly successful Sixth Form. Despite being one of the largest schools in the city, we maintain a strong sense of community and place a high priority on the wellbeing of both staff and students.

In recent years, we have undergone significant transformation to place ambition at the heart of everything we do. Enhancements to our curriculum, behaviour systems and personal development programmes have led to the strongest examination results in our history. Our recent Ofsted inspection recognised the college as being "Strong" in six of the seven judgement areas, reflecting the significant improvements made across the school and our continued ambition for excellence.

At The City of Leicester College, we pride ourselves on being a forward thinking, inclusive, and ambitious community. As a member of our team, you will benefit from:

  • A stimulating and rewarding inner city environment, serving a diverse, multi cultural and multi faith community
  • A school with genuine ambition, where we are committed to improving life chances for every young person we serve
  • A supportive induction programme, ensuring you feel welcomed, prepared and confident in your role
  • A fantastic, well-resourced and inspiring learning environment, designed to support excellent teaching and learning
  • Committed, enthusiastic and creative staff and students, who work together to achieve exceptional outcomes
  • A friendly, collaborative and supportive working culture, where staff teamwork and collective success are highly valued
  • Access to high quality technology and digital resources to support your work effectively
  • Staff healthcare benefits through Bupa, supporting wellbeing and peace of mind
  • RAC vehicle cover, providing practical support beyond the workplace
  • A 'Cycle to Work' scheme, promoting healthy and sustainable travel
  • Eligibility for a Blue Light Card, offering a wide range of national discounts
  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme/Teachers' Pension Scheme (as applicable).

Equal Opportunities As a provider of employment and education, we value the diversity of our staff and students, and all our staff are equally valued and respected. We are committed to providing a fair, equitable and mutually supportive learning and working environment for our students and staff.
