Job summary

The British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) is seeking a Site Technician to join a growing site services team, performing NDT inspections on customer sites across the UK and supporting work at the Derby laboratory. The role emphasizes quality, safety and clear reporting, with opportunities to develop advanced methods and phased array skills.

Ideal candidates hold PCN Level 2 in UT, MPI and DPI, with preferred phased array and eddy current experience.

Qualifications

  • PCN Level 2 in phased array or relevant experience (preferred).
  • PCN Level 2 in eddy current (preferred).
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and varied projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive testing inspection, predominantly at customer sites but also at the Derby laboratory.
  • Carry out ultrasonic, eddy current, magnetic and penetrant inspection (training in advanced methods such as phased array).
  • Provide accurate reporting on completion of projects.
  • Show willingness to learn and develop an NDT career with flexibility to changes.

Job description

A Site Technician is sought to join a growing site services team in which no two days are the same. This role offers the opportunity to work on customer sites across the UK, carrying out a variety of non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections, while also supporting work within the company's Derby laboratory. The successful candidate will be part of a business that invests in its people, offering ongoing training and the chance to develop advanced inspection skills, including phased array. Working closely with customers and quality auditors, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high standards of service and technical excellence. The Role

As a qualified NDT Technician with a strong commitment to quality, safety and delivering accurate inspection results, the successful candidate will hold PCN Level 2 certification in ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and dye penetrant inspection (DPI), with phased array and eddy current qualifications or experience being advantageous. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a customer-facing environment, will be comfortable travelling to sites across the UK and can adapt to changing priorities and project requirements. The successful candidate will take pride in producing clear, accurate reports and will understand the importance of working within audited quality systems. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to develop a career in NDT.
