Job summary

NDT Technician role with a Global Engineering and Manufacturing leader requires expertise in visual, magnetic, dye-penetrant, ultrasonic testing and Nital Etch on forgings and weldments. You will analyse results, document findings, and raise non-conformances as part of quality procedures.

Candidates should hold PCN Level 2 in VI, MPI, DPI and UT Forgings, plus ISO9001:2015 Internal Auditor training and have report-writing experience.

Qualifications

• PCN Level 2 in VI, MPI, DPI and UT Forgings is required.
• Experience preparing detailed inspection reports with defect interpretation.
• Manual Handling training completed.
• ISO9001:2015 Internal Auditor training completed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct various inspections: VI, MPI, DPI, UT and NE on forgings, components and welds.
• Analyse results, identify flaws and document findings per procedures.
• Raise non-conformances per the NCM procedure.
• Support shop-floor issue resolution related to machining, welding or heat treatment.

Job description

NDT Technician required for a Global Engineering and Manufacturing leader, with over 20 worldwide locations employing 1000 + staff. This employer is recognised globally for quality and innovative deliverables.

The successful NDT Technician will be easily able to commute to HUDDERSFIELD from surrounding towns & cities, including Leeds, Dewsbury, Halifax, Wakefield and Brighouse.

Key Responsibilities of the NDT Technician will include:

• Conduct various inspections, including Visual Inspection (VI), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Nital Etch inspection (NE) of forgings, machine components, and weldments.
• Analyse inspection results, identify potential flaws, interpret standards, and document findings according to established procedures.
• Raise non-conformance reports in line with the non-conformance management procedure.
• Assist in resolving shop floor issues related to machining, welding, heat treatment, or metallurgical causes.

For the NDT Technician role, we are keen to receive CVs from candidates who possess:

• PCN Level 2 Minimum in Visual, MPI, DPI and UT Forgings
• Experienced in preparing detailed reports outlining inspections findings, Defects and Interpreting specifications and standards
• Manual Handling and training experience
• ISO9001:2015 Internal Auditor Trained

Salary & Benefits on offer for the successful NDT Technician:

• £39604 basic - £46732.72 ( shift rate)
• 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday - Rotating Shifts - Morning and afternoons
• 25 Days annual leave + Bank holidays
• Company pension contributions of up to 8%
