Job summary

Jungheinrich is seeking a hands-on Site Support Engineer to service and maintain materials handling equipment across the Peterborough region. The role combines field-based work with customer-facing responsibilities, delivering high-quality service while building strong customer relationships at a key site.

You will diagnose faults with mechanical and electrical skills, perform preventative maintenance, and complete accurate service reports and parts management.

Qualifications

• A valid UK driving licence is essential and customer-facing experience is preferred.

Site Support Engineer - Materials Handling

Field-Based | Peterborough

The Opportunity

We're currently recruiting a Site Support Engineer to join a growing engineering team, supporting customers across the Peterborough region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys varied, autonomous work, building relationships with customers while maintaining high-quality service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on materials handling equipment
• Diagnose faults using electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Complete accurate service reports, documentation, and parts management
• Deliver excellent customer service on-site, acting as a company ambassador
• Identify upsell opportunities and additional work where appropriate
• Ensure full health & safety compliance at all times

About You

We're looking for candidates with a strong engineering mindset and practical experience, ideally from one of the following backgrounds:

• Automotive / Vehicle Technician
• HGV / Plant / Forklift Engineering
• Agricultural or Military Engineering

You'll also have:

• Solid mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
• Experience working in a field-based or customer-facing role
• The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
• A full UK driving licence
