Job summary

Jaguar Land Rover Limited in Solihull seeks a Site Services Gas Engineer to maintain, repair and optimise gas systems, HVAC, and piping across site facilities. You will work within the Site Services Maintenance team on gas appliances and related infrastructure to ensure high availability and compliance with safety standards.

The role requires essential gas qualifications, ACS/Gas Safe certification, and hands-on experience with boiler systems, pipefitment and diagnostic testing.

Qualifications

• It is essential to possess recognised government/apprenticeship level gas qualifications and Gas Safe registration.
• Experience servicing and repairing gas-fired boilers, heating systems and pipework is required.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work safely to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow drawings and diagrams to install, maintain and repair gas systems and appliances.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on boiler systems and gas distribution.
• Diagnose faults, test controls and safety devices, replace defective components.
• Trace gas leaks and implement safe corrective actions.
• Perform maintenance on natural gas-fired boilers and related equipment.
• Complete maintenance documentation and support site improvement projects.

Working within the Site Services Maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of gas appliances, HVAC systems, pipework, and plumbing infrastructure.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This role is integral to maintaining plant performance, minimising downtime, and ensuring the continued availability of critical site services.

• Follow technical drawings, plans and diagrams to install, maintain and repair gas systems and appliances.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on commercial and domestic boiler systems.
• Diagnose faults, test controls and safety devices, and replace or repair defective components.
• Trace and repair gas leaks, ensuring systems operate safely and within design parameters.
• Perform proactive and reactive maintenance on natural gas-fired boilers and associated equipment.
• Maintain assets in line with O&M manuals, statutory regulations, HSE requirements and company policies.
• Complete maintenance documentation, report defects, and support continuous improvement projects with site supervision.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

It is essential that you have a Government Approved Apprenticeship, Craftsman Certificate, Level 3 BTec, NVQ, OCR Cambridge Nationals, OR a National Diploma related to gas systems. In addition you will need:

• Core domestic or commercial gas qualifications - CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1 and/or CoDNCO1, CDGA1, CIGA1, or ICPN1
• Commercial and Domestic Gas Systems Maintenance - Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing gas-fired boilers, heating systems and gas distribution systems, including planned and reactive maintenance.
• Gas Safety Certification & Compliance - ACS qualifications, Gas Safe registration, and knowledge of gas industry standards, regulations and safe working practices.
• Fault Finding & Diagnostics - The ability to diagnose faults, test controls and safety devices, identify defects, trace gas leaks and carry out effective repairs.
• Pipefitting & Plumbing Installation/Repair - Experience installing and repairing pipework, plumbing systems, sanitation systems, water systems and compressed air systems.
• Electrical testing and technical troubleshooting - Relevant electrical testing and fault-finding capability, including qualifications such as ACOP 6/7 and the ability to work from technical drawings and schematics.
