Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to oversee the reliability and scaling of our production platforms across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will build tools, optimize performance, and lead incident response for large distributed applications.

You’ll collaborate with developers to improve service quality, design automated, resilient systems, and drive capacity planning, monitoring, and release practices, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes,

Qualifications

• Experience managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with Grafana Observability Suite (Loki, Mimir, Tempo).
• Background administering or developing with monitoring/automation tools like Splunk, Datadog, PagerDuty, or Rundeck.
• Experience with Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
• Cloud DevOps certifications (AWS/GCP) or similar credentials.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python/Go/Java/C#/scripting with Bash or PowerShell.
• Solid knowledge of AWS core services and reliability constraints.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret system metrics to fine-tune performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with developers to improve service quality through testing and release practices.
• Engage in architectural discussions, manage platform operations, and contribute to capacity forecasting.
• Design and implement automated, scalable, resilient systems.
• Lead operational support and blameless postmortems during outages.
