Job summary

Addition Solutions LTD in Cheltenham is seeking a highly skilled DevOps/Platform Engineer to strengthen reliability and performance of complex government services. You will work in a hybrid model, 3–4 days on-site, and contribute to cloud and on-prem delivery pipelines.

The role covers automation, monitoring, incident prevention, and collaboration with software teams across multiple domains with a focus on AWS and Azure environments. Strong Linux and scripting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef.
• Hands-on Terraform for infrastructure as code and automation.
• Solid containerization with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins) and monitoring stacks (Prometheus/Grafana).
• Knowledge of messaging (RabbitMQ) and SQL databases; strong Linux skills.
• Cloud exposure across AWS (EC2/RDS/S3/Lambda) and Azure; coding in Java/Go/Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software teams to boost system reliability and performance.
• Automate repetitive tasks and streamline alerting alongside system administrators.
• Enhance monitoring and observability to prevent issues before they affect services.
• Support development environments to meet delivery and quality targets.
