Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Site Agent / Project Manager for the Kiln Lane substation project as part of The Great Grid Upgrade. You will lead a team on-site in Uttlesford, Essex, ensuring delivery to programme and safety standards.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent) and significant experience on large-scale infrastructure, with a strong focus on Temporary Works and setting out using digital engineering tools.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent (HNC/HND/NVQ4) plus demonstrable experience in a construction delivery environment.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Temporary Works experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilise Digital Engineering models to provide information for Visual Method Statements and Visual Task sheets.
• Implement and ensure compliance with the Temporary Works procedures on projects and explain them to others.
• Determine appropriate methods of dimensional control and ensure setting out data is controlled.
• Interrogate and transfer setting out data from 3D CAD data.
• Define survey scope and formats for as-built surveys and reports to demonstrate compliance.
• Produce and/or ensure ITPs are produced, available, and address specifications and contractual obligations.
• Ensure adherence to project and company quality procedures.
• Utilise and recommend best engineering methods and design processes.
• Produce and approve method statements and risk assessments.
• Oversee procurement.
• Manage a team of engineers.
