Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Site Management Team as a Site Practitioner within the Operations Division, Eastern Services. The role focuses on safe patient flow, capacity management and 24-hour clinical and operational support.

Working pattern is 22.5 hours per week on a rotational shift including days, nights and weekends. Fixed term until 01 July 2027, with secondment options for NHS staff.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Site Management Team as a Site Practitioner within the Operations Division, Eastern Services.

We are looking for a motivated and resilient nurse with significant acute care experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Site Practitioners play a key role in ensuring the safe and effective flow of patients across the site, helping patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

Working closely with clinical and operational teams, you will support the management of patient flow, capacity and escalation, while promoting the delivery of safe, high-quality care. You will also coordinate the Hospital Out of Hours service, providing expert clinical and operational support across the organisation.

Working within the Operations Support Division in Eastern services and managed by the Clinical Matron of Operations and Lead Nurse / Head of Patient Flow, the Site Practitioner team provides 24-hour support to the organisation to ensure the effective flow of elective and emergency patients from admission through to discharge.

Working Pattern:22.5 hours per week, working a rotational shift pattern including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
