Job summary

The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Rehabilitation Physiotherapist to join the Community Rehabilitation Team in the South & West Exeter cluster. This fixed term/secondment covers maternity leave and involves autonomous work within a supportive team, with a varied caseload from falls prevention to orthopaedic, neurological and respiratory conditions.

Are you passionate and motivated to use your clinical knowledge and assessment skills to support patients rehab journey? In South & West Exeter cluster, we have an opportunity for a motivated individual, with a keen interest in rehabilitation and promoting independence, to join the community rehabilitation team. This is a fixed term/secondment opportunity until 21/11/2027, covering maternity leave.

The team supports with facilitating hospital discharges alongside supporting longer term rehabilitation goals, working to optimise a patients’ ability and quality of life. This involves assessment in patient homes, care homes, out-patient settings, as well as provision of strength & balance classes in the community.

You will require a wide-range of clinical skills andcommunity experience to be able to work autonomously, as well as part of a team.There is a varied caseload, including falls prevention, orthopaedic conditions, neurological and respiratory conditions.You will need excellent communication skills, adaptability and resilience to change. Lone working is required at times

The team is well supported with day to day Clinical Leadership as well as highly specialist therapists. There is a structured in-service training programme to help support and guide your development and opportunity to support students and apprentices.

There is close working with the urgent community response team and community nursing teams. This role also supports the cluster 8am – 8pm across 7 days a week on a rota basis, within these hours to support both the intermediate care and UCR national pathways .
