XPO is seeking a Site Operations Manager for the Leigh site. This full-time, permanent role focuses on safe, efficient operations, driver coordination, and strong stakeholder relationships.

You will lead a team, drive adherence to policies, and support the Contract Manager in compliance and safety matters. The job includes a focus on delivering high-quality service and customer satisfaction at the Leigh site.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Transport/Distribution/Operations Manager in a 3PL environment.
• Proven people management with coaching and development focus.
• CPC holder and IOSH qualification or equivalent.
• Process-driven with problem-solving skills.
• Track record delivering results in fast-paced operations.

Responsibilities

• Take full operational accountability for the Leigh site and manage time to ensure safe, efficient service.
• Lead and develop your team, providing coaching and support.
• Manage relationships between XPO and customers, communicating with stakeholders.
• Ensure teams align with XPO policies and procedures.
• Support the Contract Manager on compliance and safety, deputising when needed.
• Help execute the daily plan for deliveries and collections, monitoring resources on site.
• Collaborate with the on-site customer for reviews and presentations in the manager's absence.
• Provide leadership to meet objectives and foster open communication.

Is operating effectively in a transport / warehouse environment one of your strengths? Is coordinating drivers and ensuring you run a safe and efficient operation a day-to-day occurrence for you? Do you find building strong and sustainable relationships with stakeholders a habit? If so, we are looking for a Site Operations Manager to join us, on a full time, permanent basis, to be based out of the Leigh site.

Pay, benefits and more:

The salary on offer will be up to £40,000. We also offer 25 days' holiday (including bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You'll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other benefits.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Take full operational accountability and responsibility for your site, effectively managing your time to ensure a safe and efficient service


• As a true people manager, you will focus on ensuring that your colleagues receive the right level of support, coaching and development


• Manage the relationship between XPO and our customers, constantly communicating across various stakeholders


• Ensure that all teams are aligned, operating to XPO standard policies and procedures


• Support the Contract Manager with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations with a huge emphasis on safety, deputising in their absence


• Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resource available at site and keep the customer updated


• Working closely with the onsite customer on a day-to-day basis, you'll support with period reviews and customer presentation in the contract managers absence.


• Provide leadership and guidance for your team to enable them to meet objectives, encouraging open communication

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Ideally you will already be a Transport/Distribution/Operations Manager working in or having experience in a 3PL environment , looking to prove yourself in a complex and diverse operation.


• A People manager and leader with a collaborative approach to achieving results


• A National/International CPC holder


• I.O.S.H Qualification


• Process driven


• You will have a track record of providing solutions to problems and delivering results in a fast paced environment
