Job summary

Wates is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead a fast-paced social housing retrofit and planned maintenance programme. You will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate subcontractors and direct labour, and ensure safety, quality, and programme delivery across multiple sites.

The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to travel between sites, and a focus on resident satisfaction. Health and safety compliance and effective reporting are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Site Manager is essential.
• Experience delivering planned maintenance, refurbishment or retrofit projects.
• Social housing experience would be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site compliance requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites across the region.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations across multiple planned maintenance and retrofit projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour and material deliveries to meet programme targets.
• Monitor health and safety compliance and maintain high site standards.
• Carry out quality inspections and ensure works align with specifications and client requirements.
• Work with Resident Liaison Officers to minimise disruption and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Ensure productivity, programme delivery and budget objectives are met.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports and project documentation.
• Confidently manage subcontractors and drive performance on site.
