Job summary

Wates Group is seeking a proactive Site Manager to join a two-person team delivering a planned social housing refurbishment programme across the Wolverhampton area. You will manage day-to-day delivery within occupied properties, ensuring safety, quality and on-time performance.

The role involves coordinating subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers, conducting site inspections and progress reporting, and maintaining strong relationships with residents and client representatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in site management of refurbishment programmes.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in live residential environments.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Managing day‑to‑day delivery of planned refurbishment works within occupied social housing properties.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Overseeing subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers on site.
• Conducting site inspections, quality audits, and compliance checks.
• Monitoring programme performance and ensuring milestones are achieved.
• Building positive relationships with residents, client representatives and stakeholders.
• Managing health and safety requirements and promoting a positive safety culture.
• Coordinating materials, labour and resources to maintain programme efficiency.
• Supporting resolution of site issues and customer concerns.
• Completing site reports, progress updates and project documentation.
