Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, is seeking an experienced Site Manager (Overhead Lines - Civil Bias) for projects across Central and Southern Scotland. The role involves on-site leadership, contractor oversight and ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence on major transmission works.

Ideal candidates have a strong civil background in overhead line construction, NEC contract experience and a track record of working in contractor-led environments.

Qualifications

• Significant site-based experience delivering transmission or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong civil engineering background, ideally overhead line projects.
• Experience as Client Representative, Employer's Representative, Clerk of Works or Construction Manager.
• Experience overseeing Principal Contractors on large-scale projects.
• Knowledge of access track construction, temporary works, earthworks and drainage, tower and foundation works, environmental mitigation, reinstatement.
• Experience with NEC contracts, compensation events, change control and contractor management.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and related duties.

Responsibilities

• Act as SPEN's on-site representative for allocated transmission projects.
• Provide leadership in health, safety and environmental performance.
• Monitor contractors against project requirements and milestones.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and SPEN procedures.
• Review RAMS, construction methods, temporary works and permit systems.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and escalate issues to Project Managers.
• Support commissioning, energisation and handover activities.
