Job summary

Go Traffic Management Limited is seeking a Site Manager for a permanent role in Bury St Edmunds. You will plan and organise site work, manage resources and costs, and ensure adherence to client standards and safety rules.

The role requires supervising crews, traffic management, and subcontractors on site. You will lead practical, on-site delivery, coordinate with clients, monitor progress, and respond promptly to emergencies while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance throughout the project

Qualifications

• Site supervision qualifications required (NVQ 3/4).
• SMSTS, Gold Card preferred (black).
• First Aid and water hygiene certifications expected.
• Desirable: confined spaces and temporary works supervision, drive licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise site work and activities.
• Monitor project progress and report to ensure work meets client standards.
• Ensure teams work efficiently and complete tasks on time.
• Ensure correct construction methods and quality standards are followed.
• Manage workers, materials, plant and equipment on site.
• Arrange and mobilise necessary resources (labour, plant, materials).
• Monitor project costs including labour, purchases and equipment hire.
• Coordinate site operations including labour, plant, materials, traffic management and subcontractors.
• Plan ahead to ensure resources are available for upcoming work.
• Respond quickly to client emergencies or urgent requirements.
• Follow company and client policies; submit weekly timesheets and logs.
• Maintain health, safety, quality and environmental standards on site.
• Organise work to reduce risks; brief workers and subcontractors on duties and safety.
• Carry out vehicle and equipment inspections; ensure PPE usage.
• Supervise staff and subcontractors; support coaching and development.
