Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Site Manager to lead our Strategic Construction Team in delivering high-quality construction projects across County Durham. You will oversee operational staff, internal teams and subcontractors to ensure projects run safely, on time and to the required standard.

You will manage multi-disciplined projects, enforce safe systems of work, maintain records and support cost control and claims processing with the Construction Team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a building/construction services discipline.
• A valid 5-day SMSTS qualification.
• A CSCS Management Card.

Responsibilities

• Manage and organise assigned operational staff, internal teams and external subcontractors.
• Take overall responsibility for multi-disciplined projects, including services delivered by other Divisions and Foremen.
• Ensure safe systems of work are in place and that staff, contractors and works are regularly monitored.
• Maintain accurate project records, including job records, service sheets, timesheets and certification.
• Ensure costs are accurately recorded and claims are prepared in a timely manner with the Construction Team and Business Support staff.
• Deliver financially successful, quality-assured, safe and timely project works alongside other Building & Facilities Maintenance staff.
• Ensure projects meet the requirements of the Construction Manager and customers.
