Job summary

JHR Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Manager for a £1.5m commercial refurbishment and fit-out project near Taunton. You will oversee all site activities, reporting to a Contracts Manager, and ensure delivery to programme, quality, and safety standards, from mobilisation to completion.

The role requires proven main-contractor site management experience, strong leadership, and a full UK driving licence, with a base near Taunton and Exeter-area project pipeline.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager with a main contractor.
• Experience on commercial refurbishment or fit-out projects is preferred.
• SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS (Black/Gold) are essential.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site activities from mobilisation to practical completion.
• Coordinate subcontractors and trades to maintain programme and quality.
• Ensure health and safety, quality, and building regulation compliance.
• Chair site and progress meetings with client and design team.
• Report progress and issues to the visiting Contracts Manager.
• Manage site records, RAMS, and progress reporting.
