This is an exciting expatriate opportunity to work on an international construction project in Africa. Please note, applicants will be required to obtain UK standard baseline security clearance to secure the role.
Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 (gross) per annum
Task Descriptions:
- Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff, and supply chain within their control, adhering to the G3 Systems Safety policy.
- Ensure subcontractors plan, operate, and deliver the contract according to their scope of works and the project programme, in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Verify that subcontractors deliver in line with the agreed design and quality standards.
- Manage the site diary following company best practices.
- Report weekly to the Project Manager as per the contract requirements.
- Ensure site activities comply with UK health and safety standards, with standards agreed at project outset.
- Implement and oversee the site induction process.
- Develop and deliver toolbox talks.
- Manage site access restrictions and equipment usage procedures.
- Oversee waste management and permits to work on site.
- Drive continuous safety improvements.
- Ensure the safe and successful completion of the project, covering quality, time, procurement, and client interface, leading by example and reporting to the Project Manager.
- Encourage and coach team members to develop skills, provide regular feedback, and create challenging learning opportunities.
- Maintain motivation and engagement among employees to ensure delivery.
- Develop detailed plans aligned with the overall project plan for material procurement, resource allocation, and scheduling.
- Attend site meetings, progress reviews, safety meetings, and stakeholder project reviews.
- Identify and report contract variations.
- Serve as the point of contact for site security and welfare.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid First Aid at Work Certificate
- NVQ Level 3-4 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar
- Valid Scaffold Inspection Certificate
- Valid LOLER Certificate
- SMSTS Certification
Skills / Experience Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
- Experience managing all aspects of the build process
- Good knowledge of NEC Contracts
- Up-to-date understanding of health and safety obligations and building legislation
- Understanding of the considerate contractor's requirements to achieve high sustainability scores.
