This is an exciting expatriate opportunity to work on an international construction project in Africa. Please note, applicants will be required to obtain UK standard baseline security clearance to secure the role.
Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 (gross) per annum
Task Descriptions:
- Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff, and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the G3 Systems Safety policy.
- Ensure sub-contractors plan, operate, and deliver the contract in accordance with their scope of works and the programme plan in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Ensure sub-contractors deliver in accordance with the agreed design and quality standards.
- Manage the site diary in accordance with company best practices.
- Manage weekly reporting to the Project Manager as per the contract requirements.
- Ensure site activities comply with UK health and safety standards, with standards agreed at the project's outset.
- Implement and manage a site induction process.
- Develop and deliver toolbox talks.
- Manage site access restrictions and equipment usage procedures.
- Oversee waste management and permits to work on site.
- Drive continuous safety improvements.
- Ensure the safe and successful completion of the project, including quality, timing, procurement, and client interface, reporting to the Project Manager.
- Encourage and coach team members to develop their skills, providing regular feedback and challenging learning opportunities.
- Motivate and engage employees to deliver project objectives.
- Develop detailed plans aligned with the overall project plan to facilitate procurement and scheduling of materials, resources, and supply chain.
- Attend site meetings, progress reviews, safety meetings, and stakeholder engagements as appropriate.
- Highlight and report contract variations.
- Serve as the point of contact for site security and welfare.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid First Aid at Work Certificate
- NVQ Level 3-4 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar
- Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate
- Valid LOLER certificate
- SMSTS certification
Skills / Experience Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
- Experience managing all aspects of the build process
- Good working knowledge of NEC Contracts
- Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety obligations and building legislation
- Understanding of the considerate contractor's requirements to achieve high sustainability scores
