Job summary

CR1 Group Limited is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to lead a bank refurbishment project in Woking, Surrey. You will manage site operations, coordinate trades, and ensure works are delivered on time, to quality and safety standards.

Reporting directly to the client and project team, you will run daily site activities, conduct inductions and toolbox talks, maintain records, and ensure compliance throughout the 7-week programme, including most weekends.

Qualifications

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
• CSCS Black Managers Card required.
• First Aid at Work Certificate required.
• Proven experience managing refurbishment projects.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and site management procedures.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to commit to the full 7-week programme, including most weekends.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of the site and workforce.
• Overseeing subcontractors and ensuring programme milestones are achieved.
• Conducting site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
• Monitoring health & safety performance and ensuring compliance with all site procedures.
• Managing quality control and snagging processes.
• Liaising with the client, project team and other stakeholders.
• Maintaining site records, permits and reporting requirements.
• Ensuring works are completed on time, safely and to specification.

Duration: 7 Weeks
Work Pattern: Must be available to work most weekends
Contract Type: Freelance / Self-Employed
Rate: Competitive Day Rate (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to join our team on a bank refurbishment project in Woking. Working directly for a specialist subcontractor, you will be responsible for managing site operations, coordinating trades, maintaining programme targets, and ensuring works are delivered safely and to a high standard.

Project Scope

The refurbishment works include:

• Soft strip and enabling works
• Refurbishment of the main banking hall
• Toilet refurbishment works
• Refurbishment of back office areas
• Coordination of subcontractors and specialist trades
• Managing health & safety and site compliance throughout the project

Key Responsibilities
