Job summary

Skilled Careers is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee mobilisation and management of a façade investigation project in Weymouth, Dorset. You will report to the Operations Director and ensure all site activities are carried out safely and to programme.

The role is a short-term contract for around four weeks starting 24 August 2026. Previous experience on facade, cladding or external envelope projects is advantageous; you will manage subcontractors, conduct site inductions,

• CSCS Black Card required.
• SMSTS required.
• First Aid at Work required.
• Previous experience as a Site Manager within construction recommended.
• Strong Health & Safety knowledge essential.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills essential.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain programme delivery.
• Full commitment to the entire 4-week contract.

Responsibilities

• Manage the initial site mobilisation and set-up.
• Conduct all site inductions for operatives and visitors.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies and site procedures.
• Monitor and supervise the façade investigation contractor throughout the project.
• Coordinate daily site activities and ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
• Carry out regular site inspections, safety audits and toolbox talks.
• Review and monitor RAMS, permits and site documentation.
• Ensure safe access arrangements are maintained for all façade investigation works.
• Liaise with the client, specialist contractors and the Operations Director.
• Monitor the quality of investigation works and ensure they are carried out in accordance with the agreed methodology.
• Keep accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress updates and Health & Safety documentation.
• Identify and escalate any issues or risks that may affect the programme or safety of the works.
• Maintain a clean, organised and professional site at all times.

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee the mobilisation and management of a façade investigation project in Weymouth, Dorset.

This is a short-term contract of approximately 4 weeks, and the successful candidate must be available to commit to the full duration of the project.

Working alongside a specialist façade investigation contractor, you will be responsible for ensuring all site activities are carried out safely, professionally, and in accordance with company policies and procedures. You will report directly to a visiting Operations Director.

Previous experience managing façade, cladding, remediation or external envelope projects would be highly advantageous. Experience supervising intrusive façade investigations and working with specialist inspection contractors is desirable.
