Job summary

Mitie in Thurso is seeking a Site Manager to lead operational delivery, manage client relationships, and oversee site teams. You will ensure contracts are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client expectations.

You will mobilise new contracts, coach and develop staff, manage budgets and KPIs, and coordinate with internal teams to keep daily activities on track.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in people management including coaching and team development.
  • Strong understanding of budgets, financial controls and resource management.
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering against KPIs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills to motivate high-performing teams.
  • BOHS proficiency modules (P402, P403, P404, P405) with an industry background.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contracts in line with client specifications and company standards; main point of contact for client relationships.
  • Support mobilisation of new contracts and clients for smooth transitions and delivery.
  • Lead and develop teams through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
  • Manage direct/indirect labour costs, resources and budgets to meet financial targets.
  • Ensure BAU activities (staffing, payroll, invoicing, appraisals, quality, KPIs, complaints) are completed on time with internal coordination.

Job description

HOURS: 9.25 hours per day (10 days on, 4 days off)

LOCATION: Thurso

We're looking for a Site Manager to lead operational delivery, manage client relationships, oversee site-based teams, and ensure contracts are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client expectations.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Successfully manage contracts in accordance with client specifications and company operating standards, liaising with clients and ensuring optimal service delivery whilst acting as the main point of contact for client relationships.
  • Support the mobilisation of new contracts and clients, ensuring a smooth transition and effective operational delivery.
  • Lead and develop teams through coaching, mentoring, performance management and succession planning, whilst maximising staff engagement and utilisation.
  • Manage direct and indirect labour costs, resource deployment and operational budgets to ensure services are delivered within agreed financial targets.
  • Ensure all business-as-usual activities are completed on time, including staffing, payroll, invoicing, appraisals, salary reviews, quality compliance, KPI achievement and complaint resolution, whilst working collaboratively with internal departments and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.

  • Proven experience in people management, including coaching, mentoring, interviewing and team development.
  • Strong understanding of budgets, financial controls and resource management.
  • Demonstrable experience managing client relationships and delivering against contractual KPIs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to motivate high-performing teams.
  • Variable but generally one or more of the following: P402, P403, P404 and P405 BOHS proficiency modules, ideally with a Certificate of Competence or equivalent RSPH qualifications, together with a minimum of 3 years' industry experience.
