Job summary

CDM Recruitment seeks an experienced Civils Project Manager to lead groundworks and infrastructure projects in the North East. You will manage civil engineering sites from inception to handover, focusing on programme, cost, quality and delivery.

You will supervise site teams, subcontractors, and engineers, build strong client relationships, and report progress to senior management while maintaining health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering.
• Strong background in groundworks and infrastructure.
• Experience managing budgets, programmes and delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership and client-management skills.
• Commercially aware with the ability to work closely with QS teams.
• Civils experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage civils projects from start to finish.
• Oversee programme, cost, quality and delivery.
• Lead site managers, engineers, subcontractors and onsite teams.
• Supervise groundworks, roads, drainage, sewers and infrastructure.
• Develop and monitor project programmes.
• Maintain client relationships and run project meetings.
• Track commercial performance with Quantity Surveyors.

The Role

• Managing civils projects from commencement through to completion
• Taking overall responsibility for programme, cost, quality and delivery
• Managing Site Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and site teams
• Overseeing groundworks, roads, drainage, sewers and infrastructure works
• Developing and monitoring project programmes
• Managing client relationships and project meetings
• Monitoring commercial performance and working closely with Quantity Surveyors
• Managing health, safety, quality and environmental requirements
• Identifying and managing project risks and resolving issues
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time and to specification
• Providing regular progress and performance reports to senior management

About You

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering
• Strong background in groundworks and infrastructure
