Search Consultancy Ltd is seeking an experienced Freelance Construction Site Manager to oversee a rapid, fast-track industrial warehouse project in South Shields. You will lead day-to-day site operations, coordinate Sub-contractors, ensure H&S compliance, and drive milestones through a compressed schedule.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong coordination with QS and design teams, and meticulous site documentation to deliver the project on time.

Qualificações

• Proven freelance or interim track record managing fast-track industrial, commercial, or steel-frame warehouse construction projects.
• SMSTS certification required.
• First Aid at Work and CSCS Card (Black Manager level)
• Strong coordination with sub-contractors and design teams.

Responsabilidades

• Rapid-Response Site Leadership: take immediate control of day-to-day site operations, coordinating all active sub-contractors, trades, and on-site staff.
• H&S Compliance: ensure uncompromising standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, running regular toolbox talks and site audits under a compressed schedule.
• Accelerated Programme Delivery: closely manage the fast-track construction schedule, identifying bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions to keep milestones on track.
• Quality Assurance: oversee quality control inspections for structural steel frame components, cladding, and industrial flooring finishes.
• Stakeholder Liaison: lead regular progress meetings with clients, design teams, and local authorities to maintain transparent communication.
• Site Documentation: maintain site diaries, permits, and progress reporting logs.

About the Project

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Freelance Construction Site Manager to step in immediately and oversee the rapid delivery of a fast-track industrial warehouse build in South Shields.

Reporting

Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, you will take full on-site control of the remaining construction phases, driving the project efficiently through handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Rapid-Response Site Leadership: Take immediate control of day-to-day site operations, coordinating all active sub-contractors, trades, and on-site staff.


• H&S Compliance: Ensure uncompromising standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, running regular tool-box talks and site audits under a compressed schedule.


• Accelerated Programme Delivery: Closely manage the fast-track construction schedule, proactively identifying bottlenecks and implementing immediate corrective actions to keep milestones strictly on track.


• Quality Assurance: Oversee rigorous quality control inspections for structural steel frame components, cladding, and industrial flooring finishes.


• Stakeholder Liaison: Lead regular progress meetings with clients, design teams, and local authorities to maintain transparent communication.


• Site Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date site diaries, permits, and progress reporting logs.

Key Requirements

• Experience: Proven freelance or interim track record managing fast-track industrial, commercial, or steel-frame warehouse construction projects.

Mandatory Tickets:

• o Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)


• o First Aid at Work certificate


• o CSCS Card (Black Manager level)

• Technical Expertise: Strong background in managing rapid structural erection, envelope cladding, and final fit-out stages.


• Commercial Awareness: Ability to drive productivity under time pressure while working alongside Quantity Surveyors to control site costs.
