Job summary

Cityscape Recruitment is recruiting a Site Manager with heavy civil engineering experience to work in their rail infrastructure division. Initial projects will be in London and surrounding areas.

You will take the lead on site, plan and programme works, and manage the site team to deliver projects with excellent quality, health, safety and environmental standards. You will need a PTS, SMSTS, and a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, with a stable rail environment background

Qualifications

• PTS and SMSTS required.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Stable rail-sector experience with main or Tier 2 contractors in the UK.

Responsibilities

About the company

My client is a family-owned civil engineering sub-contractor who are turning over £15M. They are based on the outskirts of Hertfordshire with great transport links to central London. They have a very good reputation working within the rail sector, sub-contracting for main contractors such as AMCO, Colas Rail and Volkerfitzpatrick as well as having strong relationships with Network Rail and London Underground. My client specialises in Platform extensions and reconstructions, groundworks, piling, infrastructure, and concrete works within a rail environment.

About the opportunity

Due to successful company expansion and a healthy order book, my client is recruiting for a Site Manager with heavy civil engineering experience (Lift shafts, concrete bases, drainage, etc.) to work within their rail infrastructure division. Initial projects will be in London and the surrounding areas.

You will be commercially aware and have the ability to take the lead on site, ensuring all aspects of your projects are delivered efficiently with an excellent record in quality, health, safety and environment. In addition, you will be expected to plan and programme your work, prepare method statements, and manage your site team.

About the benefits and rewards

You will be rewarded with a competitive day rate ranging from £380.00 £450.00 per day (specific rate will depend on previous experience and suitability). My client is happy to pay you as a LTD company or through an umbrella company.

About the requirements

• You will need to have a PTS
• You will need to have an SMSTS
• A degree in either Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• A stable career working within a rail environment for either Main Contractors or Tier 2 contractors in the UK
• Good longevity in the workplace (holding each previous appointment for at least 2 years)
