Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is seeking a Project Manager to lead civil engineering and geotechnical projects across the South of England, with Network Rail work in scope. You will take ownership from development through delivery and coordinate site teams to ensure safety, quality and on-time performance.

The role requires a solid PM background in earthworks and heavy civils, with rail experience considered highly advantageous. A UK driving license and CSCS are expected.

Qualifications

• Previous Project Management experience within Civil Engineering.
• Strong background in earthworks/ heavy civils and/or geotechnical engineering.
• Rail/Network Rail experience highly advantageous.
• Ability to manage projects with significant operational and logistical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering and geotechnical projects.
• Manage projects from pre-construction/development through to completion.
• Lead Site Agents, Works Managers and site delivery teams.
• Manage project programmes, resources, logistics and delivery strategy.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Network Rail and other key clients.

Project Manager - Rail / Civil Engineering

Location: Basingstoke - projects across Sussex, Kent and Wessex

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 + Company Car / Car Allowance + Benefits

Project Manager required to join a growing specialist Civil Engineering and Geotechnical contractor with a substantial pipeline of secured and visible Network Rail work across the South of England. The business is experiencing significant growth through the CP7 framework, with a number of projects already secured or progressing through single-source negotiation. Schemes have increased significantly in size and complexity, creating an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of projects from development through to successful delivery.

Projects encompass earthworks, enabling works, drainage, working platforms, haul roads, embankment works, retaining structures, CFA piling-related works, anchors and specialist geotechnical packages.

Project Manager Salary & Benefits

• £60,000 - £75,000 salary, dependent upon experience

Project Manager Job Overview

Project Manager Job Requirements

• Previous Project Management experience within Civil Engineering
• Strong background in earthworks, heavy civils and/or geotechnical engineering
• Rail / Network Rail experience highly advantageous
• Previous experience managing projects with significant operational and logistical requirements
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage project margins
• Excellent client-facing and leadership skills
• Civil Engineering or Geotechnical degree advantageous but not essential
• Appropriate CSCS qualification
• Full UK driving licence
• Flexible approach to project travel
