Job summary

Doncaster Sheffield Airport seeks an experienced Site Management Officer to support the safe, efficient operation of the airport’s facilities. You will act as the CAFM system administrator, maintain asset data and preventative maintenance, and coordinate audits to ensure compliance.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport is entering a transformative period as preparations continue for its planned reopening, following its closure in 2022 and sustained regional efforts to restore aviation activity to the site. Local partners and aviation specialists have been working together to rebuild the operational foundation required for a safe return to service.

About the role

Doncaster Sheffield Airport is entering an exciting new phase of development and growth. We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Site Management Officer to work within an established Facilities Management Team to support the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of the airport.

This is a unique opportunity to support the DSA Facilities Manager and ensure the safe and efficient building management of the sites within the DSA Portfolio. This role acts as the central hub for Facilities Management coordination, maintaining compliance with all legislation and statutory obligations while ensuring seamless service delivery across the portfolio.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting airport operations from reopening and beyond, creating a proactive culture that delivers reliability, resilience, and continuous improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities

Core responsibilities and duties will include:

  • CAFM System Coordination:Act as the primary administrator and coordinator for the CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) system, ensuring all asset data, reactive maintenance tasks, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules are accurately recorded, assigned, and closed out to maintain a comprehensive digital audit trail.
  • Compliance & Audit Coordination:Carry out building safety compliance, fire safety, and environmental audits; implement necessary actions and work with on-site operational managers to ensure designated sites operate safely and efficiently, within legislation and council requirements.
  • Contractor & Project Management:Lead on specific building management projects and work strands to support service development, manage business continuity, and ensure the safety of building users through the supervision of on-site contractors and the issuance of Permits to Work.
  • Maintenance & Technical Oversight:Ensure that statutory requirements are met by carrying out planned and preventative maintenance and checks including fire safety, emergency lighting, RCD, and legionella control.
  • Review RAMS, issue PTW, inductions and supervision.
  • Responsible for managing the PPM schedule.
  • Procurement & Financial Coordination:Procure goods, works, and services relating to facilities management in line with Council Contract Procedure Rules, from the identification of needs through to contract management and payment of invoices.
  • Incident Response:Respond to, investigate, and action urgent and critical calls to reduce impact on operational services, personal safety, and statutory compliance.
  • Defect Management:Action defect reports by determining appropriate remedial action, procuring works, and liaising with building users to facilitate delivery.
  • Operational Support:Support building users by assisting with furniture set up for meetings, occupier moves, and movement of items around and between sites.
  • Performance Reporting:Maintain accurate records and systems to provide performance information and reports to assist in the effective operation and energy efficiency of DSA Facilities.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of Facilities Management and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and external stakeholders.
