Job summary

My Life Legacy is seeking a proactive Site Maintenance Operative to keep our 84-acre site safe, welcoming and well‑maintained for service users, visitors and staff. You will perform day‑to‑day maintenance, plan workloads, and coordinate repairs, while handling emergencies as they arise.

The role covers joinery, painting, basic plumbing and grounds care, with opportunities to operate tractors and mowing equipment.

Qualifications

• Experienced in general building and site maintenance.
• Skilled in basic joinery, painting/decorating and plumbing.
• Confident operating tractors, ride-on mowers and grounds maintenance equipment.
• Organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and coordinate multiple tasks.
• Knowledgeable about Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• A confident problem solver with a positive, can do attitude.
• Flexible and willing to participate in occasional emergency call outs and out of hours duties.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general maintenance across our 84-acre site in Standish, Wigan.
• Completing basic joinery, painting and decorating to a professional standard.
• Undertaking basic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
• Maintaining our gardens and outdoor spaces to a high standard.
• Operating a tractor, sit-on lawn mower and grading machinery safely and effectively.
• Coordinating maintenance tasks, assessing priorities and planning workloads.
• Sourcing equipment, materials and supplies required for maintenance projects.
• Overseeing site maintenance, servicing schedules and contractor repairs.
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
• Responding to occasional out-of-hours emergencies and locking up the site when required.

Are you a practical, proactive and reliable individual with a broad range of maintenance skills? Do you enjoy working outdoors, solving problems and taking pride in maintaining high standards? If so, we would love to hear from you., As our Site Maintenance Operative, you'll play a key role in ensuring our 84 acre site remains safe, welcoming and well maintained for the people we support, visitors and colleagues. You will carry out the day to day maintenance of our buildings and grounds, coordinating and completing repairs, carrying out planned maintenance and responding to unexpected issues as they arise.
