Job summary

Esland is seeking a competent multiskilled Maintenance Operative to join our Estates & Maintenance team at the Belper site. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance across care homes and other business areas, including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, painting, basic electrics and gardening, as part of a dedicated team.

The role requires a flexible, hands-on approach, strong communication, and the ability to travel between our homes.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance across multiple trades.
• Ability to carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
• Strong communication with team and management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and complete all aspects of general maintenance and repair in our homes.
• Complete other maintenance tasks with the wider maintenance team across our homes.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and report issues to management.
• The successful candidate must be willing to work one Saturday every 6 weeks.

Key Responsibilities

• Completion of any other maintenance tasks as and when required, working with the wider maintenance team across our homes.
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations and reporting any issues to management.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

You will have experience in all aspects of general maintenance and the ability to carry out this work to a high standard.

• You will have experience in all aspects of plastering, carpentry and decorating, in order to provide an efficient and comprehensive maintenance service to our homes.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrics.
• Excellent communication skills, to liaise effectively with all levels of the organisation.
• You will be experienced in the safe use of powered hand and bench tools.
• You can work both independently and as part of the wider team.
• Confident in using IT systems - Currently we use Jira to manage and update jobs.
• A full driving license is essential, along with flexibility to travel across our homes.
