Job summary

Industrial Temporaries is seeking a reliable General Maintenance Operative to oversee day-to-day upkeep, routine repairs, and safety checks of our facilities. This hands-on role includes using a company vehicle to travel between sites and support a busy maintenance team.

You will perform general maintenance tasks, basic plumbing/electrical work, and contribute to preventative maintenance. Weekend on-call shifts are included once fully trained, with a comprehensive onboarding program.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in general handywork and building maintenance.
• Good level of spoken and written English.
• A full, clean UK driving licence (essential for the company vehicle).

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance tasks and handywork including painting, carpentry touches, and basic repairs.
• Conduct routine facility checks and preventative maintenance.
• Assist with basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting as needed.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests efficiently and safely.
• Operate the company vehicle responsibly to travel between tasks or sites.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team and external contractors.
• Participate in the weekend on-call rota (1 weekend in 5) once fully trained.
