Site Maintenance Manager

Location: Huddersfield

Salary: Up to £35,000, dependent on experience

We are seeking a practical, hands-on Site Maintenance Manager to oversee PPM, repairs, maintenance, and site safety.

The Role

We need someone experienced with tools, systems, and maintenance tasks—someone who has worked on the ground and understands how to keep a building and its services functioning properly. You will lead a small team, organize jobs, coordinate with contractors, and ensure our sites remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained.

Main Responsibilities

1. Manage a small team focused on the upkeep of buildings, equipment, and systems including heating, electrics, plumbing, and general repairs.
2. Organize and lead the maintenance team—assign jobs, monitor progress, and provide support.
3. Handle repair requests, update the job system, and ensure timely completion of work.
4. Plan and perform regular checks and servicing (PPM) to minimize breakdowns.
5. Order tools, materials, and parts in advance to prevent delays.
6. Collaborate with outside contractors and engineers—obtain quotes, supervise work, and ensure quality standards.
7. Monitor team performance using KPIs and weekly reports.
8. Assist in training team members and sharing technical knowledge.
9. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and legal standards.
10. Maintain documentation such as risk assessments, procedures, and training records.

What We’re Looking For

1. A solid background in facilities, site maintenance, or trades such as mechanical, electrical, or plumbing.
2. Practical experience in resolving day-to-day problems.
3. Leadership skills to manage and develop a team.
4. Experience with job tracking or maintenance software (training provided).
5. Strong planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
6. Effective communication skills for team updates and contractor interactions.
7. Health & safety awareness and commitment to working safely.
