Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK LIMITED is seeking an experienced Site Lead / Site Manager to command field service activities across the UK. You will supervise field service engineers, coordinate site operations, and ensure safe, high-quality delivery of transformer-related projects on customer sites.

You will drive safety culture, manage client relationships, and oversee installation, commissioning, maintenance, refurbishment and repair of large power transformers and equipment, while aligning with project

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience leading site teams of field service engineers.
• Experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance, refurbishment or repair of large industrial equipment.
• Strong health & safety knowledge and risk management.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Field Service Engineers and subcontractors on customer sites, ensuring safe, efficient delivery.
• Day-to-day site management, aligning work with schedules, quality standards and contracts.
• Be the primary on-site contact for customers and provide progress updates.
• Support installation, commissioning, maintenance, refurbishment and repair of transformers and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy safety, health, and quality requirements; identify and address hazards.
• Coordinate site logistics, resources, permits, access, and subcontractor activities to ensure successful delivery.
• Lead daily site safety briefings, risk assessments and toolbox talks to maintain safety culture.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and escalate to project managers as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
