Job summary

Kier Group plc. seeks a Head of Site Engineering for the West Burton site in Nottinghamshire. You will act as the technical controlling mind, leading integration across civil, utilities, and site interfaces, and ensuring design intent is preserved through delivery and lifecycle.

You will establish governance, assurance plans, and risk controls, champion safe-by-design, and build a multidisciplinary engineering team while engaging with senior stakeholders to drive a best-for-programme approach.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, systems, nuclear or related engineering.
• Chartered Engineer with a professional institution.
• Proven experience as technical authority, chief engineer or system architect on a complex safety-critical programme.
• Experience leading multi-organisation engineering teams and obtaining security clearance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical controlling mind and site engineering authority for West Burton.
• Lead end-to-end technical integration across civil works, utilities, site layout, and interfaces.
• Establish site engineering governance, standards, assurance plans and records.
• Champion safe-by-design and health-by-design principles.
• Build and lead a multidisciplinary site engineering capability and represent IPT5 engineering in governance forums.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to ensure design intent is preserved through lifecycle.
• Maintain security clearance and site-access requirements.
