Job summary

Kier Group in the UK is seeking an experienced Engineering Director for the ILIOS programme in West Burton, Nottinghamshire. You will lead engineering across design integrity, assurance and buildability, acting as technical authority on governance and design assurance.

Responsibilities include defining strategies, promoting collaboration across partners, and ensuring outputs are safe, compliant and integrated. This is a senior leadership role with significant strategic impact.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in engineering or a related technical discipline, plus Chartered membership.
• Significant senior leadership experience across major multi-disciplinary engineering, construction, infrastructure, nuclear, energy or complex programme environments.
• Proven capability in leading technical functions, design management and engineering assurance across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of technical risk, compliance, temporary works governance, constructability and safety-led design.
• Collaborative leader with excellent communication skills able to present complex technical matters to executive and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Providing overall engineering leadership across the ILIOS programme, owning design integrity and technical assurance.
• Developing and implementing engineering strategies, policies and procedures across ILIOS.
• Leading engineering assurance and technical integrity while translating outputs into safe, buildable works packages.
• Acting as Temporary Works Designated Individual with competent appointments and assurance arrangements.
• Building and developing engineering capability and promoting collaboration across partner organisations.
