Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London seeks an experienced Site Engineer for a major £80m+ education project in Rayleigh, Essex. The role focuses on taking ownership of groundworks setting out, QA, and on-site engineering tasks within a fast-paced construction environment.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate with subcontractors and engineers to ensure drawings, specs, and site standards are met, with a minimum 2-year freelance contract and potential extensions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on large projects.
• Strong setting out experience with Total Station and GPS.
• Excellent QA and site documentation practices.
• Clear communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to coordinate with project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage all setting out activities across the groundworks package.
• Establish and maintain site control, line, and level.
• Produce and maintain QA records and inspection documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors for accurate installation.
• Carry out as-built surveys and maintain records.
• Support planning and programme delivery with site management.
