Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Site Engineer to support on-site delivery across water infrastructure projects in the Thames Valley region. You will work on setting out, surveys and coordination with the site team to ensure safety and quality on site.

The role requires a CSCS card and SSSTS, plus a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent. You will be expected to travel to sites and contribute to planning, cost control and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • CSCS and SSSTS are required.
  • HNC or degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Understand civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Good organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel to sites across the operational region.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure standard company procedures are followed in setting out operations and communication to operatives and subcontractors.
  • Site Management and carrying out 'as built' surveys on completed works.
  • Assist the Site manager in the initial set-up, ensuring company systems and procedures are in place and implemented; supporting the Site Manager in maintaining and enforcing safety standards throughout the project; support the site team in planning and monitoring output.
  • Financial Control and ensuring company cost systems are kept up to date by logging material deliveries, managing and reviewing plant levels.
  • Assisting the Site manager and Quantity Surveying Department by compiling data to record resources utilised on each activity.

MMB has successfully extended its contract with Thames Water for an additional five years. As the largest water and wastewater provider in the UK, Thames Water serves 15 million customers throughout London and the Thames Valley. This extension will carry the current agreement through to the end of AMP8 in March 2030. MMB is delivering work on three frameworks in the region, which sees us undertake a varied programme of water and wastewater non-infrastructure and infrastructure projects to improve the network.

With sites located across the Thames Valley region including; Aylesbury, Banbury, and Reading.

Engineering is at the very core of what we do. Be it civil, mechanical or electrical, our engineers are based on site and play a practical, hands-on role in the successful delivery of projects. As an Engineer you'll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities - from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity.

The Role Of a Site Engineer Includes

What You'll Need
  • CSCS and SSSTS
  • HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Understand civil engineering principles and practices
  • An understanding of methods, materials and technical aspects relevant to the project
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
