Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is recruiting a Site Engineer to work on civil, mechanical and electrical projects on-site, supporting the Site Manager and ensuring adherence to safety and company procedures. The role focuses on setting out, site surveys and resource planning across water projects in the Yorkshire region.

You will be part of a hands-on engineering team delivering improvements to water treatment works and flood defences, with opportunities for progression and professional chartership

Qualifications

  • CSCS and SSSTS
  • HNC or Civil Engineering degree
  • Understand civil engineering principles
  • Knowledge of methods, materials and technical aspects
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region

Responsibilities

  • Ensure standard company procedures are adopted in setting out operations and communicate to operatives and subcontractors
  • Site management and carrying out 'as built' surveys on completed works
  • Assist the Site manager in the initial set-up and maintain safety standards across the project
  • Support financial controls by logging material deliveries and monitoring plant levels
  • Assist the Quantity Surveying Department by compiling data on resources used each activity

As an Engineer you'll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities - from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity.

The Role Of a Site Engineer Includes
  • Ensuring standard company procedures are adopted in carrying out setting out operations as per the test and inspection, and that effective methods of communication are used in transmitting information to operatives and subcontractors
  • Site Management and carrying out 'as built' surveys on completed works
  • Assist the Site manager in the initial set-up, ensuring company systems and procedures are in place and implemented; supporting the Site Manager in maintaining and enforcing safety standards throughout the project; support the site team in planning and monitoring output
  • Financial Control and ensuring company cost systems are kept up to date by logging material deliveries, managing and reviewing plant levels
  • Assisting the Site manager and Quantity Surveying Department by compiling data to record resources utilised on each activity.
What You'll Need
  • CSCS and SSSTS
  • HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Understand civil engineering principles and practices
  • An understanding of methods, materials and technical aspects relevant to the project
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
