Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Site Agent to join our delivery teams across Bournemouth, Poole and South Dorset. You’ll oversee projects from tendering and design through construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery for clients in water, energy and environment sectors.

The role requires CSCS and SSSTS/SMSTS, plus an HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).

Qualifications

  • CSCS and SSSTS/SMSTS are required for site management.
  • HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Effective communication with team members and stakeholders is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee site operations from tendering and design to construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Ensure safety, quality, time, and budget adherence per client requirements.
  • Coordinate site procurement, subcontractor logistics and H&S reporting.
  • Provide project progress updates to client and address concerns.
  • Act as Temporary Works Coordinator ensuring compliance with design specs.

We will be delivering schemes located around Bournemouth, Poole and South Dorset area.

As a Site Agent, you’ll be integral to our operational team, contributing to every phase from tendering and design to construction, commissioning, and handover. You’ll lead projects that enhance our environment and communities- from improving flood defences, to upgrading water treatment works and providing nature-based solutions that improve biodiversity.

The Role Of a Site Agent Includes
  • Working collaboratively with the design and commercial teams to enhance delivery efficiency and promote opportunities while managing risk
  • Managing the site, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the quality required by the client
  • Involvement with site level procurement, subcontractor logistics and H&S reporting
  • Informing the client about project progress and addressing any concerns
  • Acting as a Temporary Works Coordinator, overseeing the installation of temporary works to ensure compliance with design specifications.
What You’ll Need
  • CSCS, SSSTS/ SMSTS
  • HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Understand civil engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
