Job summary

METLEN Energy & Metals is seeking a Site Electrical Engineer for the Grid & Digital Solutions Department, based at Torness, Scotland, to deliver the EGL1 Project. You will supervise electrical works on site, monitor equipment installations, and coordinate subcontractors in a fast-paced construction environment.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or technical diploma, 2+ years in electrical construction, strong drawing/spec understanding, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• University Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in electrical construction projects in power/industrial sectors.
• Experience supervising electrical installation subcontractors on sites.
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent command of English and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the execution of electrical works on site per specifications and standards.
• Monitoring installation of electrical equipment, cable systems, and earthing systems.
• Coordinating and supervising subcontractors for safe, efficient work.
• Tracking construction progress and maintaining records.
• Reporting technical issues and risks for timely resolution.
• Ensuring materials and resources are available for site activities.
• Performing quality inspections and ensuring compliance with standards.
• Supporting testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Monitoring schedule adherence and escalating delays as needed.
• Ensuring full compliance with HSE requirements on site.
