Job Description Electrical Construction Manager 27/08/2026 Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join the Grid & Digital Solutions Department of the Thermal Power & HVDC Division for the delivery of the EGL1 Project, based in Torness, Scotland.

Your role will encompass:

Leading and overseeing all electrical construction activities on site, ensuring full alignment with project specifications, construction schedules, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
Managing and coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient execution and optimum resource utilization.
Driving construction planning and execution strategies to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Monitoring construction progress, identifying risks and bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions where required.
Reviewing construction methodologies and installation sequences to optimize productivity and constructability.
Ensuring the timely availability of labor, materials, equipment, and tools required for construction activities.
Coordinating closely with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Commissioning, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
Supporting progress measurement, reporting, forecasting, and project controls activities.
Ensuring all electrical installations comply with project specifications, applicable standards, QA/QC requirements, and industry best practices.
Acting as the primary focal point for all electrical construction matters with internal and external stakeholders.
Promoting and enforcing the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality performance across all site activities.

What you bring to the role:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
10+ years of experience in electrical construction within large-scale energy infrastructure projects, including power generation, substations, HV systems, HVDC, or transmission projects.
Proven experience managing site construction teams and subcontractors in complex EPC environments.
Strong knowledge of construction planning, execution methodologies, progress monitoring, and project delivery.
Solid understanding of electrical installations, constructability reviews, and site execution best practices.
Experience in contract administration, cost control, budgeting, and reporting.
Familiarity with QA/QC requirements, HSE regulations, and international construction standards.
Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills across multidisciplinary project teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent command of the English language.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
