Job summary

EGGER UK is seeking a Despatch Operator to join our team in the Gatehouse in Hexham. You’ll be the first contact for drivers, visitors and contractors, ensuring safe and efficient movement of people, vehicles and products.

The role is full-time with a competitive hourly rate (£13.57) and annual pay (£28,225), rising for shift/weekend coverage. Benefits include health and wellbeing initiatives and on-site facilities.

Qualifications

• Good IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Understanding of health and safety principles.
• Ability to remain calm and professional with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate site logistics to ensure dispatch activities run smoothly and safely.
• Operate the site weighbridge for inbound and outbound vehicles.
• Coordinate vehicle movements between trailer park and manufacturing facilities.
• Register visitors, contractors and drivers per site security requirements.
• Operate the switchboard outside normal office hours.
• Support emergency procedures as part of the Emergency Contact Centre.
• Provide a professional and welcoming first impression of EGGER to site visitors.
