Job summary

A recruitment firm is looking for a Lead BOP Commissioning Engineer for an Energy From Waste Plant in England. The role requires strong experience in mechanical systems and commissioning, preferably in EFW or Biomass plants. Contract extends from March 2026 to April 2027, with a schedule of 5 days a week and extensive hours during commissioning phases. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and will work on an outside IR35 daily rate.

Qualifications

  • Proficient understanding of utility packages: air, water, waste.
  • Experienced in driving mechanical commissioning activities.
  • Ability to manage commissioning progress and attend technical meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical commissioning activities ensuring quality checks.
  • Maintain project requirements in commissioning progress.
  • Provide technical support to on-site teams and vendors.

Lead BOP (Mechanical) Commissioning Engineer

Vallum Associates are currently partnered with a client to staff a commissioning team for an Energy From Waste Plant in England.

Responsibilities
  • The lead BOP commissioning engineer should have a working knowledge of power station plant and the associated utility packages such as air, water, waste, etc.
  • Candidate should be experienced in mechanical systems so they're able to drive the mechanical commissioning activities to ensure plant is installed correctly and aligned with all quality checks completed before first energization and the subsequent hot commissioning.
  • Candidates should will be able to maintain commissioning progress in line with project requirements and attend meetings to offer technical support with both on site teams and Vendors.
  • Experience in commissioning on EFW, Biomass or conventional power plants is essential.
Details
  • Contract: March 2026 - April 2027
  • Schedule: 5 days a week 10 hours a day, During Hot commissioning 10 days on 4 days off.
  • Outside IR35 - All in Daily Rate
  • Right to work in the UK required
