Job summary

Veolia Group is seeking a Site Chemist in Cambridge to support hazardous waste operations at the AstraZeneca Discovery Centre. You will help manage chemical waste processes, complete regulatory documentation, and liaise with suppliers to ensure safe, compliant waste removal.

The role requires an appropriate chemistry qualification, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Driving license and van operation are helpful.

Qualifications

• HNC or Degree in Chemistry or relevant science required.
• A-Level in Chemistry considered.
• Comfort with numeracy and computer use, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for the Site Manager in implementing hazardous waste operations.
• System management of chemical waste processes within the site.
• Complete regulatory and internal documentation for laboratory waste activities.
• Liaise with facility suppliers and disposal providers for compliant waste management.
