Job summary

Veolia in Blackburn is seeking a team-oriented operative to support off-site collection teams (Commercial, Hazardous, Metal Waste). You will escort them on and off sites, assist with loading, weigh metal waste, and operate the weighbridge.

You’ll manage on-site waste bins, segregate recyclables, and help with large-scale clearances, all while maintaining site cleanliness and accurate paperwork. The role requires a full clean driving licence, an FLT licence and relevant manual handling

Qualifications

• Full Clean Driving Licence.
• FLT licence.
• Similar operational manual handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Escort off-site collection teams and assist with loading for Hazardous waste.
• Weigh waste metal items and operate the weighbridge.
• Collect dry hazardous waste bins on site and empty into the in-drum compactor.
• Recycle yard materials and segregate recyclates into correct containers or baled on site.
• Collect, store and process non-routine waste.
• Maintain a clean recycling yard area and keep records of collections.
• Assist with large-scale clearances.
